Studio Policy

Lesson fees

The studio has a monthly fee to make it easier for families to plan their budget. The fee covers all scheduled lessons for the month, therefore, there is no additional charge for months having five weeks. In event that a holiday allows for only three lessons in a month, the monthly fee will still apply.

The Holidays referred to are New Year’s Eve and Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day.

Tuition

Tuition is $90 per month for weekly half hour lessons or $24 per individual lesson. This covers the lesson, related material I might give you and recitals. Method books and any other music books are not included.

Music lessons are contracted by month. The payment date is determined by the day of the month that the lesson begins, i.e. 2nd Tuesday, 4th Thursday, etc. and are payable in advance.

Attendance

Your notification of inability to attend a lesson is a courtesy to me, but does not excuse you from payment. Missed lessons can be made up for reasons such as serious illness, vacation, death in family, and my absence. No make-up lessons will be given for failure to cancel a lesson.

Please arrive on time. Tardy students will have what is left of their time. Running the time of a tardy student into the scheduled time of the next student is unfair and will not be done.

Referrals

As a thank you, I am offering you either a 25% reduction in one month’s lesson, a copy of my latest CD of solo jazz piano only available here, or a handshake and my warmest personal regards for any referral that leads to an interview. This would apply for each referral you make.

Questions
One of my goals as teacher is to build a relationship/partnership with both students and parents. My expectation for parents is to be involved in what is happening at lessons and call me with any questions or concerns.
